A municipal reading project wanted to reinvent the library concept. Library furniture was therefore installed in leisure and easy access areas, such as parks, beaches, plazas and bus stops. The book collection was distributed across these points of presence, counting on an integrated lending system throughout the city.
The mobile nature of the libraries presented a structural challenge and increased the complexity of the project. However, the opportunity to promote culture through design highly motivated the team to wholeheartedly overcome these obstacles. The project proved to be a success as confirmed by the extremely positive and frequent use of the facilities alongside the various national and international awards it received.
